Job Description - Height Safety Trainer

 
Employment with the National Access and Rescue Centres
Post:Height Safety Trainers
Location:Kendal or London Based
Reporting to:Training Manager
Job Purpose:
 
To deliver high quality Work at Height and Rescue training in accordance with corporate guidelines and industry requirements. Working as part of training delivery team ensuring safe and effective instruction to clients at all levels.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high quality, safety training with standardized content and emphasis on good client relations
  • Inspect and maintain training equipment
  • Supervise trainees
  • Ensure a safe work environment is maintained at all times
  • Observe control measures indicated by risk assessments
  • Deliver only approved course content
  • Follow all required procedures
  • Deliver training in a manner sensitive to customers needs
  • Use training check lists to deliver key skills
  • Gain market & product feedback from clients
  • Promote further use of products and services
  • Use only approved reference copies of training documents
  • Complete inspection forms and documents
  • Ensure completion of client satisfaction quality forms
  • Carry out regular rescue practice
Competence:
  • Maintain high standard of knowledge and techniques
  • Be familiar with industry best practice for courses taught
  • Understand legislation and principles of risk assessment
  • Study and understand manufacturer's user instructions
  • Be able to use learning objectives and assessment checklists
Personal Skills:
Ideally you will
  • have previous work at height experience desired, former work in outdoor education or training delivery in other skills sectors (although not essential as training will be given)
  • be able to ensure effective communication is achieved at all levels in particular with other team members
  • can effectively represent the company, promoting a professional approach to your work
  • have an active interest in continuing professional development
  • be computer literate – i.e. familiar with PowerPoint (not essential as training will be given)
  • be able to support, co-operate and work well with others to achieve common goals
Essential:
Ideally you will
  • Full driving licence
  • Able to travel across UK and overseas
  • Must be over 18
  • Able to understand English
  • Eligible to work in the UK
