This course includes content at the level of BS 7985 User (see TRA1U) or IRATA Level 1 but is specifically tailored for the requirements of geotechnical work such as railway cuttings or rock outcrops.
Includes basic principles of movement on ropes (ascent, descent, rope changeovers etc.) together with study of elementary rigging and rescue provision.
Practical sessions (and individual assessment) are done outdoors on rock outcrops and small quarry faces, including rescue scenarios.
ACWAHT (Advisory Committee for Work at Height Training) syllabus is also covered in this course. |
