Although much training for work at height takes place in on the ground, eventually it is necessary for candidates to experience some form of exposure to height.

The National Access and Rescue Centre possesses a variety of access ways and platforms, with varying degrees of exposure.

Candidates are introduced to work at height gradually, using the type of safety system which they would expect to find in the workplace.

Exposed walkways are also used to train for rescue procedures.
